Karen Bhatia is a lawyer, policymaker, and entrepreneur dedicated to driving economic growth and innovation. As a professor at Stanford University (in the NY program) and a former Visiting Practitioner at Cornell Tech, she mentors and advises the next generation of innovators. A graduate of Stanford, Harvard, and George Washington University Law School, Karen began her career as an attorney at a Wall Street law firm, helping businesses raise capital through IPOs and debt offerings. She then led New York City’s tech growth strategy at the NYC Economic Development Corporation, managing a $200M+ portfolio of 30+ initiatives in business support, workforce development, and innovation. Karen ran for Nassau County Legislator in 2025 to bring common-sense leadership to our community, focusing on a new model for unity, action, and problem-solving to develop real solutions that work for everyone in our community.
